Ron Green Antiques

It was my Great Grandfather, Ron, who opened our first shop in Towcester, Northamptonshire in 1955. He was a traditional dealer with a good eye for high quality Georgian furniture but he bought anything he admired, including art, sculpture, and ceramics. He had a reputation as an aggressive buyer. When he liked a piece he made sure it was his no matter the cost, and when it was his, he would simply ‘trade it on' for a very small profit. He always said ‘the appeal of something was never in the money to be earned, but the joy of owning it.’

Michael, my Grandfather, joined his Father in the early 1960’s and Michael’s son’s, Nick and Chris, joined the family business in the mid 1970’s, by which time the business was primarily dealing with other dealers from all over the world; England, Netherlands, Italy, Ireland, and particularly, America - where half of everything sold was exported to.

Today, Ron Green is run by me, my Father, Nick, and my Uncle, Chris.
